Bruce Springsteen played homage to Lorde with a cover of her hit song, "Royals," while playing a show in the pop star's hometown of Auckland, New Zealand.
The Boss put his own blue-collar Springsteen kick to the song. His performance was an acoustic one, wielding just his guitar and a harmonica. He also appropriately changed the lyrics from "You can call me Queen Bee" to "King Bee." It is definitely a smile-worthy performance, which you can check out in the video above.
Lorde told news.co.au about her reaction to the cover:
"My Twitter went mental. Everyone in New Zealand was like 'You can't believe what just happened! It was so exciting. It was the highest honor. He's such an incredible songwriter. I got a little teary."
Springsteen seems to have an affinity for playing cover songs and you can find his version of the Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive" and AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" right here on Zumic. For even more information on Bruce Springsteen's latest music, news, and tour dates, check out his Zumic artist page.
