Melvins frontman King Buzzo has just loosed another ripping acoustic track from his upcoming solo record, This Machine Kills Artists.
"Drunken Baby" starts with a resonant stoner riff and Buzz's space-aged, reverb-drenched vocals. It's surprisingly heavy for as stripped-down as it is, and the chunky guitar sounds like it could be equally at home blended with crushing distortion and pounding drums. Buzzo said the album wouldn't be some "half-assed version of Woody Guthrie," and he's right. Check out the tune above.
This Machine Kills Artists is slated to be released June 3rd on Ipecac Recordings. You can pre-order the record via Amazon. Check out the first single, "Dark Brown Teeth," right here at Zumic.
