"Midnight" - Coldplay (Giorgio Moroder Remix) [SoundCloud Audio Single]

Italian disco pioneer Giorgio Moroder has remixed Coldplay's "Midnight," the new single off of Ghost Stories, out March 19th through Parlophone Records.

The original version is a stripped-down ballad with Chris Martin singing in a Justin Vernon-like falsetto over ambient synth chords. Moroder's remix, however, is a huge production with an added thumping beat, turning this mellow ballad into a dance romp. He completely transforms the track by the 2:52 mark by abandoning the original vocals and adding his own through a vocoder. Moroder gives the song a sense of urgency, as if this was the song to dance to while waiting for the world to end. Stream it above, or buy the track on iTunes.
