Last month, Atlanta producer Metro Boomin shared a song entitled "The Blanguage," which saw him and frequent collaborator Young Thug giving Drake's "The Language" a facelift. Now the pair, known collectively as Metro Thuggin, have shot a video for the track. Watch it above.
Enhancing Boi-1da's original production with a good dose of trap ominousness in the first half of "The Blanguage," Metro Boomin goes with a less typical strategy in the second half, replacing his synths with a somber piano line and allowing disembodied snippets of Young Thug's previous verses to filter into the mix. Thugger himself does a standup job adding emphatic peaks and valleys to Drake's Atlanta-aping flow, adding yet another notch in his belt of weirdo hits.
The video for "The Blanguage" is pretty simple, consisting of Metro Thuggin sipping lean and smoking weed in a kitchen, then taking out a sports car for a parking lot joyride. It is, however, quite possibly the only rap video you'll see all year in which its male stars don coonskin caps and UGG boots (now that's what I call metro[sexual] thuggin'). Young Thug also unleashes an utterly ridiculous dance around 3:30 -- it's pretty magical.
