Today is Mother's Day, and to celebrate, Eminem has released a fittingly heartfelt new video for "Headlights." The sentimental track is from last year's The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
The Spike Lee-directed clip sees things from the point of view of his estranged mother. It's emotionally powerful all the way through, with real-life photos spliced in with the footage. Em apologizes for his part, confessing in the lyrics, "But I'm sorry momma for "Cleaning Out My Closet," at the time I was angry / Rightfully, maybe so, never meant that far to take it though / Cause, now I know it's not your fault and I'm not making jokes / That song I'll no longer play at shows and I cringe every time it's on the radio." Watch Eminem wish his mom a happy Mother's Day in the moving tribute above.
