Veteran singer-songwriter and pianist Tori Amos has released a new music video for her latest single, "Trouble's Lament." Watch it above.

Here is where her southern roots come out, with a bit of twangy country influence mixed with some Americana and nods to Flamenco. It's just the right amount of spice to make a multi-layered, entertaining pop song.

The video is shot on-location in London, where Amos resides part-time with her husband and daughter. It is centered around a city diner, in which a series of unlawful acts unfold while Amos sits back and sings about Trouble -- a young woman in search of a home after she "fell out with Satan."

On song structure and lyrics, Amos explained in a press release:

Having been born in North Carolina, the South walks with me wherever I am in the world. I can't get it out of my DNA. I don't know if it's a genetic thing, because my mother's side, so far back, is from the Eastern Cherokee nation. So it's really in the blood. It's almost like you listen to the land speaking to you. And wherever I am I can hear the South calling me. I really like the idea that trouble was a young woman... I see her on my travels a lot. And maybe I knew her many years ago when I was in my twenties.

The song is featured on her fourteenth studio album, Unrepentant Geraldines, out now via Mercury Classics. Buy it on Amazon.
