Foster The People the LA-based band behind 2010's wildly successful, "Pumped Up Kicks" have released a music video for their single "Best Friend" off of their sophomore album, Supermodel.

The video features a stunning collage of visual images that juxtapose the story of a fame hungry supermodel who devours her competition in an attempt to gain their finest features, with wild images of the band performing in front a psychedelic liquid light backdrop reminiscent of the Joshua White light show of the '60s. Brewer, the duo of music video-directing brothers, allow for this video to be a flexible canvas that marries various optical mediums such as flashy still-frames, performance cameos of the band, and a brief animated segment that pays homage to Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill: Vol.1

The story follows your prototypical supermodel, who in an effort to become the societal standard of beauty, performs bizarrely inhuman acts such as consuming her rivals and self-induced metamorphosis. The end result is a predictably distorted image of a woman that serves as Mark Foster and Co.'s social commentary on the worldwide perception of beauty and celebrities in our current day to day culture.

You can purchase Supermodel on iTunes and Amazon.
