This past January, Gainsville punk rockers Against Me! released Transgender Dysphoria Blues, a deeply personal, emotionally powerful album dealing with frontwoman Laura Jane Grace's coming out as transgender. The third music video from the album, "Drinking With The Jocks," is out now and you can watch it above.
The video is a frenetic combination of images and lyrics. The visuals throughout are jarring, with skulls, butts, coffins and an arresting image of an axe and a hot dog interspersed with the lyrics. The song itself deals with Laura Jane Grace trying so hard to fit in with jocks and macho boys by pushing down who she really was. It's an intense viewing experience that you may want to watch with caution if you are at work.
