Spoon "Rainy Taxi" on Jimmy Kimmel Live 6.26.2014
Spoon started with the lead single off the new album, "Rent I Pay," a bluesy rock jam with a three rhythm guitar attack. The band is seasoned live, with singer Britt Daniel looking extremely comfortable up there, smiling and playing to the crowd. "Rainy Taxi" shows the band going into an '80s rock direction, with one of the guitars being replaced by a keyboard, which adds a new dynamic to the number. Alex Frischel, keyboardist and newest member of the band, does some incredible things by the end of the song, slapping the piano with his hands, playing with his elbow and generally going crazy. This performance is wonderful to watch and shows that Spoon are back and better than ever.
They Want My Soul is available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon. You can listen to "Rent I Pay" right here on Zumic. For more on Spoon, including news, music and upcoming tour dates check out their website.
