Busta Rhymes just dropped "Calm Down" off of his upcoming album, Extinction Level Event 2. The first single off of the sequel to 1998's Extinction Level Event brings Eminem along for the lyrically wild ride.

The track opens with the familiar horn line from Bob & Earl's 1963 "Harlem Shuffle," also known as the introduction to House Of Pain's seminal 1992 hit, "Jump Around." Only a few seconds elapse before Busta Rhymes' characteristically fierce wordplay begins flowing fluidly throughout the first half of the cut. Rhymes takes no prisoners as he raps about drugs, religion, and social media. The 45-year-old's unique blend of internal and half-rhyming techniques, as well as his limitless vocabulary (he used the word Fahrvergnügen on this track) place him amongst the pioneers of the genre.

The second verse features fellow hiphop trailblazer Eminem, who offered up his own hailstorm of lyrical prowess. The new direction he began pursuing with 2013's The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is fully apparent here as he slings phrases together with masterful dexterity. Eminem frequently modulates his voice to assume different characters. He also manages to make historical references, as with the lyrics, "Hey Mrs. Abraham Lincoln, other than your husband's fucking brains that were leaking, how'd you think that play was this weekend?" all in the course of a single verse. The first track Busta Rhymes has debuted off of Extinction Level Event 2 has already proven that the album will be a showcase for lyrical adroitness and proficiency, with a place for a bit of humor as well.
