Spoon's Britt Daniel dropped in at BBC Radio 6 to play acoustic versions of two songs from the long-awaited They Want My Soul, coming out later this summer.

At 2:32, Daniel plays "Rent I Pay," first pointing out that the new sound is the result of "listening to a lot of AC/DC." Even with an acoustic version, you can hear what he's talking about.

Daniel talks more with host Lauren Laverne about the band's veteran status, the Digital Age, and playing shows with Arcade Fire. The new record will be the first in four years and their eighth full-length release to date. Following the interview, we get a second taste of new material with "Rainy Taxi," an angsty cut about the fear of losing love.

Check out the album version of "Rent I Pay" along with the single "Do You" here on Zumic. You can also watch their recent performance on Jimmy Kimmel.

They Want My Soul is due out August 5th. Pre-order it now on Amazon. For more Spoon news and tour dates, check out their Zumic artist page.
