Texas rockers Spanish Gold have released a video for their song "Day Drinkin," which you can watch above. The tune is off their debut album South of Nowhere, which was recorded at Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Studio in Nashville and at Lalaland in Louisville.

The video features a clown that seems down on his luck. He steals a car and goes for a joyride while sipping on alcohol before passing out and dreaming he meets love in a river. The song is slow paced and contains a galloping drumbeat underneath Dante Schwebel's echoed vocals.

The trio is made up of drummer Patrick Hallahan (My Morning Jacket), guitarist Adrian Quesada (formerly of Grupo Fantasma) and guitarist and lead vocalist Dante Schwebel (City and Colour, formerly of Hacienda). In an interview with GQ, Hallahan spoke about the song:

It was just something that Dante brought to the table. He already had a few songs pre-written before we all got together, songs that Hacienda wasn't going to do and this was one of them. We had already recorded about four songs, and we were just like, "Well what else do you have? Do you have something different that can kind of be a wildcard?" And he's like, "Yeah I have this song that's kind of just about laying in the grass day drinking, letting your mind go, kind of just like an easygoing fun song."

The band has a few more dates left on their nation wide tour before wrapping it up at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. For further music, news, and tour information, check out their official website.
