The indie rock band Young the Giant released their music video for the song "Mind Over Matter" from their second album Mind Over Matter which was released in November 2013. The music video is a mix of shots featuring the band playing in front of cities mentioned in the song (New York, L.A., Tokyo) as well as some kaleidoscope imagery, Asian inspired decor, and a pretty girl linking them all together.

The lead singer, Sameer Gadhia, steals the spotlight in the song with his voice's sheer power and range. Gadhia doesn't put on a bad performance either, obviously not one that would consider to be camera-shy.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Gadhia said, "That became the concept for the record: The obstacles one creates for themselves are the only things that can really destroy you." This concept is very clear in the lyrics of the song, especially when he belts out in the chorus, "And if the world don't break, I'll be shaking it." While the song embodies the message the band wishes to convey, it does not have the edge of the record's other singles "It's About Time" and "Crystalized."
