Los Angeles-based folk rockers Dawes recently performed on Guitar Center Sessions for DIRECTV Audience. You can watch a clip of them performing the song "A Little Bit Of Everything" off 2011's Nothing is Wrong above.

The track is split up into three different stories, one about a man contemplating suicide on the edge of the Golden Gate Bridge, one about an old man at a buffet trying to forget his past hardships, and one about a couple getting married. Every scenario sets up a situation to use the phrase "It's a little bit of everything" to describe why the characters feel the way they do. That line becomes more powerful throughout, as the band uses it to describe depression and despair, but also happiness and hope.

Musically, the song begins as a soft folk number, with delicately strummed guitars and light percussion. As the track builds, however, the instrumentals become louder and you can hear a strong southern rock influence. "A Little Bit Of Everything" tells a fascinating story that grows in power and emotion as it unfolds.

The full episode will air July 27th at 8 PM on DIRECTV Audience, channel 237. You can order Dawes' latest record, Stories Don't End, on Amazon. For more on Dawes, including news, music, and upcoming tour dates check out their Zumic artist page.
