The song is produced by Que's high school friend Sonny Digital, and is a classic drum and snare track. Que raps about a special lady in his life who impresses him with her independence, style, and care. Que's raspy raps are clear and emotive which matches perfectly with Ty Dolla $ign's R&B vocals on the hook.
In addition to releasing "Standout," Que sat down with Billboard and got a few things off his chest.
