After debuting her music video for "We Are Here" yesterday, Alicia Keys performed her new single and promoted her movement #WeAreHere. Fallon kicked off the segment, by holding up a sign saying why he is here, which reads, "I'm here to help you forget your problems for an hour."
After Fallon introduces her with another sign, the singer-songwriter puts on a beautiful yet simple performance of her new song. It's just her voice and piano until the final chorus when Questlove joins in on drums.
In the web exclusive, Keys talks about how "We Are Here" was inspired by a conversation she shared with a group of friends where she was asked, "Why are you here?" Now, she is asking all of her fans to take a photo of themselves with a sign of why they are here and to share it on social media. She closes the video by showing her own sign which states, "I am here for forward movement." The ambitious musician is hoping to start a conversation about the world we live in today.
