Alternative rock torchbearers The Smashing Pumpkins have released an early banjo version of "To Sheila." Listen above.

The banjo adds some weight to the song in contrast to the more delicate 1998 version off their fourth studio album, Adore. It's still soft but more upfront, exhibiting Billy Corgan's voice on the most intimate side of its spectrum. The drum machine hits harder and pushes the song's intensity. The whole thing feels like the hopeful beginning of spring after a long, harsh winter.

The track is the third preview from the upcoming Adore reissue. It will feature 55 unreleased bonus tracks, including outtakes, remixes, and B-sides. The extra special Madame Zuzu pre-order is currently sold out, but you can pre-order the regular deluxe version on Amazon.
