This past weekend, the annual Farm Aid concert was held in Raleigh, North Carolina. Above, you can watch Gary Clark Jr.'s rip-roaring full set of psychedelic blues rock as originally webcast.

From the opening of Robert Petway's blues standard "Catfish Blues" there is an electric atmosphere as the Austin, TX gunslinger and his band take command of the stage and deliver a top notch performance. The crowd filters in during the set, and by the time Clark and his band leave the stage, the seats that were empty at the beginning are all occupied. The amazing day of music also featured sets from founders Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and John Mellencamp, as well as Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, Jack White, Delta Rae, Jamey Johnson, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, and Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

"Ain't Messin 'Round" shows that Gary Clark has the ability to play uptempo danceable music that's radio friendly but still has a grittiness to it. The song has several layers, as sideman King Zapata takes a slide guitar solo and then Gary leads an exhilarating breakdown that explodes back into the chorus.

Before launching into "Don't Owe You A Thang," Clark says, "When I got the call to do it, it was definite" and "sorry ladies, you might not like this one." It looks like he came out looking to prove himself amongst all the great talent that was part of this great event, and he certainly doesn't disappoint. "Blak and Blu" is a nice change-of-pace as Clark plays the slow ballad by himself, pouring his soul out to the audience.

Closing out with his first big hit, "Bright Lights," Clark finishes strong. His band joins back in, pushing the set to another level in terms of power and intensity. The quiet-loud dynamics and changes in guitar sounds keep things interesting in the loose jam that ensues. Like birds flying in V formation, they all come back together for a tight finish.

Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. For more information and to contribute to the cause, go to farmaid.org.
