Last weekend, The Tedeschi Trucks Band performed two shows at NYC's historic Beacon Theatre. On September 19, Marc Lowenstein was backstage and was able to record the band rehearsing a version of "Leavin' Trunk," while joined by blues musician Taj Mahal and guitarist Jerry Douglas. You can watch the footage above.

The intimate dressing room performance finds Taj Mahal leading the jam as he sings with raw passion and energy. The band follows his lead and holds the rhythm tight while Taj occasionally breaks out the harp and blows a few notes. Jerry Douglas lends skillful guitar playing on a Dobro, as Derek and Susan pay close attention to Taj's lead. It may only be a rehearsal, but it's a fun sounding jam that gives a glimpse to how the band prepared for their show that night.

The Tedeschi Trucks Band will cap off their Beacon run with shows on Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27. For further music, news, and tour information, check out their Zumic artist page.
