Call Rah Digga Angela Davis.

The female rap veteran is taking a stand for hip hop as she was inspired to name her new song "Angela Davis," after the 1960s political activist and scholar. Digga spits, "I'm Angela Davis, I ain't shaking my buns, I'm yelling 'power to the people,'" over the track reminiscent of a soulful 1970s groove, and an electric guitar. The Newark MC also alludes to the state of hip hop when she rhymes' "When did lyricism escape us?"

Coincidentally, the song comes a few short days after Rah Digga made an appearance on Thisis50 Radio, where she discusses what is to be considered hip hop. She even calls out Iggy Azalea stating, "It's not real to me," and "I don't consider her hip hop."
Take a listen to the track above.
