On October 7th, Michigan alt-rockers Pity Sex are set to release a split with Pittsburgh indie band Adventures. Each band will play one original and one cover. You can listen to Pity Sex's version of "Gigantic" by the Pixies above.
The song stays true to the original version with vocalist Britty Drake's vocals as calm and understated as Kim Deal's. However, the band brings in a fuzzier guitar to create a more dynamic and heavy feel, and puts their own distinct stamp on it. With "Gigantic," Pity Sex are able to make it their own while respecting the creators.
The split is currently available for pre-order at the Run For Cover Records store.
