Last night, The Simpsons paid homage to legendary singer-songwriter and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Cat Stevens in their couch gag. It featured the title track to his 1970 album, Tea For The Tillerman, and you can watch it above.
The gag is in a storybook style, with the Simpson family portraying the different characters in the song. Of course there are some hilarious and bizarre scenes, such as Homer drinking beer out of a teapot, Ralph Wiggum freezing in time, and a three-eyed seagull flying over the Springfield nuclear plant. It's a beautiful and witty way to honor the song.
Cat Stevens, also known as Yusuf Islam, will release his first album in 5 years on October 27th. It's called Tell 'Em I'm Gone and it is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.
