Today, Scottish producer and DJ Calvin Harris released the song and video for his single, "Open Wide," which features rapper Big Sean. The track is the second promotional single for his upcoming album Motion, as well as the vocal version of his instrumental song, "C.U.B.A." Motion is scheduled for release on November 4thst.
Do not let the video fool you. While you're viewing fast cars, rival gangs, shootouts, and police, the song's underlying message quietly creeps to the forefront. As die-hard Harris fans already know, he broke up with British singer Rita Ora earlier this year. That fact explains Big Sean's verses regarding his failed relationships over the fast-paced, uptempo dance music as Harris continues to create music that showcases the breakup. Sean raps, "I been breakin' up with girls since I was 15 / It's the only thing that hasn't got easier." While the song arose from a negative situation, all club goers will not be opposed to pumping their fist in the air while it rattles through the speakers.
His upcoming album, Motion is available to order on Amazon and iTunes.
