Chicago band Twin Peaks stopped by the WNYC studio in New York City recently for a live interview and performance on Soundcheck. The garage rockers played three songs from their newest release, Wild Onion. You can listen to the full audio of the appearance above and watch YouTube videos of the band's short set below.

In the interview, host John Schaefer talks with Cadien Lake James and Clay Frankel, both of whom sing and play guitar. They begin by discussing the band's songwriting process and who screams on what album track. Cadien and Clay reveal the origin of the band's name and their love of the Twin Peaks television series. The lighthearted interview reveals how the band formed, then leads into a behind-the-scenes discussion of Wild Onion.

The band keeps their live songs under four minutes, saying their motto is, "If you got something to say, say it quickly." We learn the connection between the song "Sloop Jay D" and the Beach Boys. After a performance of "I Found A New Way," the interview continues with a chat about the Chicago music scene. Cadien shares why the band loves to play basement house shows in the area. The interview is an informative look at the band and the three songs that they perform are a must-listen for fans of fuzzed-out garage rock.

You can listen to Wild Onion in its entirety here on Zumic. You can purchase the album on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3) and iTunes.
