Lorde has just released the video for "Yellow Flicker Beat," the lead single from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack.

The Emily Kai Bock-directed clip sees the singer bounce between a dozen locations and at least as many costumes. Unlike many soundtrack songs, the video doesn't seem to have anything to do with The Hunger Games, but it's a welcome change of pace. Instead, the visuals take on an almost Lynchian aesthetic, with flowing red dresses, late night highways, and jerky dancing. Watch it above.

Lorde released the video at 6 AM EST on November 6th (12 AM, November 7th in New Zealand) to celebrate her 18th birthday.

You can pre-order The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack on Amazon (CD, MP3) or iTunes. Lorde's debut album, Pure Heroine, is also available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3) and iTunes.
