Above, you can listen to "I Am A River," the eighth track from the Foo Fighters recently released album, Sonic Highways. The song features producer Tony Visconti and was recorded at Magic Shop in New York City, whose clients have included David Bowie, Alice Cooper, and more.
At seven minutes long, it's the longest track on Sonic Highways. An extended, serene intro gives way to a steady rhythm of guitar chords. The song builds to a near-explosive intensity, but it restrains itself, instead choosing to stay mid-tempo. Dave Grohl's screams aren't as abundant as they are on other tracks on the album. Orchestral instruments help close out the song in grandiose style.
Sonic Highways is currently available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3) and iTunes.
