Timeless soul. That's what Lee Fields has given us with his new music video for his version of Leon Russell's "Out In The Woods." Watch above, on YouTube.
The video takes place in Plainfield, New Jersey (aka "The Queen City") in an appropriate setting: a backyard BBQ. There is intimacy and a genuine personal touch, which is what Lee Fields' music is all about. Fields' vocals sound awesome, and The Expressions do great justice to one of my personal favorite songs of all time, which first appeared on Leon Russell's 1972 album, Carney. This is bluesy, soulful rock and roll, with Russell's signature Native American groove fully intact.
"In The Woods" was released on Emma Jean earlier this year. Listen to the album right here on Zumic and read our review. You can support these fine artists by purchasing the album on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3) and iTunes.
