On Tuesday, Brooklyn rapper and prior X Factor finalist Astro released the official music video for "Champion." The song is featured on his new album titled Computer Era, which was also released this week. Singer Spade delivers the hook of the track.

In "Champion," the 18-year-old raps about his rise to fame. He raps, "I'm in a safe zone ‘cause I’m gold with the flow tho / Started when we was rockin' Asolos with Polos / Now 'stro so known I can’t walk dolo / Middle school foes is fiendin’ to take photos." Beneath his boastful lyrics and New York pride lies the themes of work hard and perseverance to achieve your goals. The Platinum Pat-produced record can serve as an inspirational song to other kids aiming to be a successful rapper. With several mixtapes and this new album under his belt, he's come far from the X Factor stage.

The video features footage of Astro in a boxing ring, and tells the story of a boxer going from a street fighter to a true champion. The footage shows boxer Peter Quillin, aka Kid Chocolate, as he became WBO Middleweight Champion and gave love to New York. Quillin is still undefeated, although he relinquished the belt earlier this year.

Purchase Computer Era on iTunes. You can also listen on Spotify.
