Last night, the legendary soul man Al Green performed on the Late Show with David Letterman. Watch his performance of "Tired of Being Alone" and the fan favorite "Let's Stay Together" above via YouTube.

With Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra band backing him, Al Green turned in a stellar performance that fans in the audience will not soon forget. "Tired of Being Alone" had the audience clapping in rhythm while a smiling Al Green led the soulful tune. Proudly wearing the Kennedy Center Honors medal he received the day before, he takes a stroll into the audience to give the tune a more intimate feel.

David Letterman couldn't contain his excitement as he says, "Oh my God!" a few times while shaking hands with the group. The clip ends with an abbreviated version of "Let's Stay Together" that found the audience singing along with Al. At 68 years young, "The Reverend" proves that timeless soul music can never fade away.
