Wavves' founder and frontman Nathan Williams has introduced a new project called Spirit Club. Here's the video for their song "Still Life." Watch above.
Living up to Williams' signature style, the video combines a ton of quick shots of beer cans, joints, the California sun, some scary stuff, and of course, waves. Not to mention there's a variety of nostalgic clips from our favorite old sitcoms. It's one big pastiche of '90s bliss.
The song is a lot of fuzzy guitars and a clap-along backbeat, featuring Williams' softer vocals. The musicality would fit right in with the early Wavves material, and their signature devil-may-care attitude is still as charming as ever. It's garage rock with a big sense of humor.
"Still Life" will be included on their debut album, due out this spring via Williams' own Ghost Ramp label. Check out two other new songs, "Eye Dozer" and "Sling" via YouTube.
