If this film trailer doesn't excite N.W.A fans, then I don't know what will. The trailer for the group's biopic film, Straight Outta Compton, premiered during the 2015 Grammys and you can watch it via YouTube above. The film, which is set for theatrical release on August 14th, will feature the rise of one of rap's most controversial, influential, and dangerous groups.

The video begins with founding members Ice Cube and Dr. Dre cruising through the streets of Compton, greeting its citizens, as well as quick run-ins with Compton rappers The Game and Kendrick Lamar. After their joyride, the video goes right into the movie scenes.

The movie is directed by F. Gary Gray, the man behind the films Friday, Set It Off, and many Ice Cube and Dr. Dre music videos including "Today Was A Good Day," "Natural Born Killaz," and "Keep Their Heads Ringing." Gray seems like the perfect go-to director for an N.W.A movie.

Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson Jr, will be playing his father, Jason Mitchell and Corey Williams will be portraying Eazy-E and Dr. Dre respectively, and Paul Giamatti will be acting as record executive Jerry Heller.

Ice Cube spoke about the biopic on The Queen Latifah Show saying,

It's a story that encompasses so many things, rap music, gang-banging, it got the drug culture, Reaganomics, AIDS (HIV), the FBI, everything happened around this group N.W.A and a lot of people don't know these details that we really went through

It should be noted that this is the "Red Band" trailer, meaning that it's meant for mature audiences. This is because the short video includes nudity, violence, and profanity.
