Paul McCartney has been a busy man these past week. First, he performed "FourFiveSeconds" with Rihanna and Kanye West at the Grammy Awards. Then, he performed a sold out Valentines Day concert at Irving Plaza in New York City this past Saturday night. At last night's Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary show, he turned in a wonderful performance of his 1970 song, "Maybe I'm Amazed." Watch his performance above.

Keith Richards introduces McCartney with a joke about the Rolling Stones and the Beatles before the song. Seated at his piano, Sir Paul brings charismatic energy into his playing and singing, even at 72 years young. Two spot-on guitar solos from Rusty Anderson and heavy drumming from Abe Laboriel Jr. provide a strong touch. Adding sentiment to the love song, images are flashed on a screen behind the band of Paul in his younger days. The group turn in a rocking performance of this classic.

Also be sure to check out the other musical performances on the SNL 40th Anniversary episode:

Jimmy Fallon & Justin Timberlake - Medley
Paul Simon - "Still Crazy After All These Years"
Miley Cyrus - "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover" (Paul Simon Cover)
Kanye West ft Sia & Vic Mensa - "Jesus Walks," "Only One," "Wolves" Medley
