Umphrey's McGee have shared their cover of The Beatles' "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. You can check it out above.

The progressive-jam rockers are gearing up to release The London Session, their ninth studio album. They recorded the album in one day at Studio 2 of the world famous Abbey Road Studios. Guitarist Brendan Bayliss gave his take of the experience in this Rolling Stone interview:

We initially bagged the idea... We're going to start a Beatles song and the engineers there will be like, 'Really, you're going to do this?' ... If we don't play it wrong, it crushes. And we nailed it.

And indeed, they nailed it.

The band’s extraordinary musicianship shines through in this session. Throughout the song, each member takes a turn sprinkling sexy little licks with their respective instruments. They tone it down at the right moments, capturing the seductive tonality that John Lennon intended. The track builds and builds until they unleash their fury, going absolutely nuts with psychedelic shredding from all the members to cap off the spectacular performance. Overall, they sound super tight and you can just tell how excited they are to be playing The Beatles at Abbey Road.

The London Session is set to be released on April 7th, 2015. Buy the album on Amazon and iTunes.
