Today, throwback metal group The Darkness have shared a comic book style lyric video for their new song, "Barbarian." The tune is from their upcoming 4th album, Last of Our Kind. You can watch the action filled clip above.
Beginning with a short introduction by a narrator, we follow along a storyline that involves vikings, destruction, and a little bit of subtle humor. '80s inspired riffs and heavy drums are aplenty, and the visually creative graphics grab and hold your attention.
Frontman Justin Hawkins told Billboard that the lyrics are classic Darkness material:
"Barbarian" features not one but two dramatic monologues, a guitar solo that has been declared 'irresponsible,' a riff that weakens lady-knees and a chorus that makes grown men shit directly into their pants. The lyrics describe the Viking invasion of East Anglia which culminated in the decapitation of Edmund the Martyr. So yeah, classic Darkness.
Last of Our Kind will be available on June 1st, and is available for pre-order via Pledge Music.
