Hot Chip have released a new music video as they gear up for the May release of their new LP, Why Make Sense? Titled "Need You Now," this might be one of the most melancholy dance tunes all year.
The track is a great extension of Hot Chip's marriage of indie and electronic styles. They are able to execute seriously heartfelt songwriting without compromising the danceability that has landed them spots on Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and more.
The music video tells the story of coping with a breakup in a very surrealist manner. Singer Alexis Taylor battles himself throughout the visual, which is reminiscent of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This is the second video release from the new album, following "Huarache Lights."
Hot Chip's new record, Why Make Sense?, will be released May 19 in America and May 18 in Europe. The album is available for pre-order on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3).
