Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder was the musical guest on last night's The Late Show with David Letterman. He came on to perform "Better Man," a track from Pearl Jam's 1994 album Vitalogy. Watch his performance above, where he was joined by Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra.
Shaffer supplies gentle piano notes to start off as Eddie comes in with vocals. Approaching the chorus, Shaffer switches to organ while Eddie is armed with an electric guitar. The song develops into a full-on rock rager, and guitarist Sid Mcginnis contributes stellar guitar riffs. A passionate Vedder breaks a string while jamming, showing that getting older hasn't affected his energy level one bit. Albeit a brief performance, an excited Letterman says it's one that'll be remembered.
