As BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend came to a close, fans were treated to an hour long set from Foo Fighters. Such a headliner is normally something fans would go crazy for, but a quick look at the performance of "Congregation" shows us that the majority of the audience seem rather indifferent. The camera is careful to zoom in on only those visbily enjoying the performance, but panning out reveals a surprising number of very mild head bobbing. Maybe someone forgot to tell them this is the Foo Fighters that they're seeing live at the biggest free ticketed music festival in Europe.

Aptly designed, the stage resembles the inside of a church, complete with faux stained glass windows and colorful lighting. As to be expected, Foo Fighters sound perfectly crisp and in sync, fronted by a very energetic Dave Grohl, despite the audience's lack of enthusiasm. "Congregation" was written in collaboration with Zac Brown in Nashville, Tennessee, during the bands recording of their TV documentary Sonic Highways.

The full 1 hour set is available only in the UK. Check that out at the BBC's official website.

Foo Fighter's latest album, Sonic Highways is available on Amazon (Blu-Ray/DVD, Vinyl, CD, MP3).  You can also stream the album for free and read our review right here on Zumic.
