A day after turning 79 years old, blues legend Buddy Guy has released a new studio album titled Born To Play Guitar. The fourteen track LP includes appearances from ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, The Fabulous Thunderbirds' Kim Wilson, Joss Stone, and Van Morrison. Tom Hambridge produced the album, who has been with Guy since 2008's Skin Deep.
The final two tracks on the album, "Flesh & Bone" and "Come Back Muddy," are dedicated to B.B. King and Muddy Waters, respectively. Other highlights include "Born To Play Guitar," "Back Up Mama," "Crying Out Of One Eye," "Crazy World," and "Turn Me Wild." Really, there isn't a weak track on here as Guy's guitar playing and singing are on point throughout and there's enough variety to keep things sounding fresh.
