Today, metal legends Slayer released their 11th studio album, Repentless, via Nuclear Blast Records. This is the first studio album to feature guitarist Gary Holt (Exodus) and drummer Paul Bostaph, and the first without former guitarist Jeff Hanneman since his death in 2013.

The twelve-track album spans 41 minutes. This is Slayer's first studio album since 2009's World Painted Blood. That length of time in between albums, and unfortunate circumstances that fell on the band since then, hasn't slowed down their aggression one bit. The opening track, "Delusions of Saviour," sets the tone for the thrash that follows with "Repentless" and "Take Control."

From that point, Repentless continues with songs that alternate between melodic, hard-hitting numbers full of bravado and adrenaline pumping thrash tunes. Worth mentioning is the track "Piano Wire," which Kerry King told Rolling Stone was a song Hanneman had been working on for the previous album.

Tracks we recommend include "Repentless," "Vices," "When The Stillness Comes," "Piano Wire," and "You Against You."

Pick up Repentless on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). You can also stream the full album above, courtesy of Spotify.

Next month, Slayer will hit the road for a European tour with Anthrax and Kvelertak. For more information about that, as well as the band's latest music and news, check out their Zumic artist page.
