If you've ever wondered what a hard rock version of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love" would sound like, look no further. Above, listen to Red Fang's Black Sabbath-esque cover of the 1961 track.
The band shared a quote with Loudwire about their involvement with the tune:
We were asked to cover an Elvis song a while back and none of us are really Elvis fans so we were kind of at a loss. We had this dark and doomy jam we’d been kickin' around for a while and we thought, "what if we just record our own song and see if we can make the lyrics fit somehow?" And to our surprise it turned out pretty rad! Maybe Elvis is spinning in his grave, but we dig it.
Don't expect Red Fang's version to sound anything like the Elvis version. Instead, the band combines thick and doomy guitar riffs with slow, haunting vocals. If Elvis ever had a nightmare about the song, I imagine it would sound something like this.
The song will be included on a limited edition 7″ single with Fraggle Rock's "Why" on the other side. 500 copies of the vinyl will be pressed with red/black splatter and available exclusively via Volcom, while the band will be selling two different versions on tour: 500 copies pressed on red vinyl and 1000 copies pressed on black vinyl.
