Some fans of Bob Dylan would say that his three best studio albums were Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, and Blonde on Blonde. There's no question that 1965 and 1966 were two of his most creative years. 50 years later, outtakes and previously unreleased versions of songs from those albums are finally being released. Above, you can listen to an alternate version of "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again," (take 13) which originally appeared on Dylan's 1966 Blonde on Blonde double-LP.

Compared to the original album version of the song, this version has a noticeably different tempo, which is slowed down. The lyrics are also different, although pretty similar to the familiar version. Dylan's harp playing is absent, and the organ sound is brought down a notch. A catchy acoustic guitar riff is prevalent after the chorus, which feels slightly Beatles-esque.

This, and many other songs, will be included on the 12th volume of Bob Dylan’s bootleg series, The Cutting Edge 1965-1966, which is set to be released on November 6, 2015. Deluxe box sets are available on Bob Dylan's website. You can also pick up the Best Of... 2 CD version on Amazon (CD, MP3).

Dylan previously shared an alternate take for "Sitting On A Barbed Wire Fence," which you can listen to here on Zumic.
