If there's any truth in the saying "opposites attract," then this video of metal band GWAR covering Cyndi Lauper's 1984 single "She Bop" is the proof. The intergalactic thrashers stopped by AV Club’s Undercover series to show us earthlings their artistic musical mastery. Watch it above.
GWAR transform Lauper's electro pop song into a hard rock anthem about masturbation (?), with thumping bass and Blothar's growling vocals. Halfway through the video, the band segues into the Ramones classic song "Blitzkrieg Bop," which sounds a little more natural coming from guys wearing antlers and spikes!
Last time GWAR performed for AV Club's Undercover series, they paid tribute to the late Oderus Urungus with a performances of Pet Shop Boys’ "West End Girls" with Jim Carroll’s "People Who Died."
