On October 14th, Danish singer-songwriter MØ released "Kamikaze," the first single from her upcoming second album. Today, she's released the official music video. Watch above on YouTube.
"Kamikaze" is another collaboration between MØ and Diplo. In March they released the Major Lazer hit "Lean On" with DJ Snake. MØ and Diplo have also worked together on "XXX 88" from her 2014 debut album, No Mythologies To Follow, and a cover of Frank Ocean's 2012 track "Lost."
Pitchfork reported on a press-release from MØ:
"Kamikaze" is a happy party song, but at the same time also about being lost and restless... What I really like about this video is that it embraces both those aspects: the party vibe — the friendships and the happiness — but also the darkness, the craziness and the doom. And it’s not just the song that has that duality, it’s very much who I am.
The video was filmed in Kiev, the capitol of the Ukraine, and directed by the Paris-based duo Truman & Cooper.
