The cat singles keep 'purring' out from Run The Jewels' 2015 release, Meow The Jewels. Check out this insane mash-up of cat videos and fuzzy beats above, via YouTube.
Following the creation of their fan-funded Meow The Jewels album, RTJ was met with yet another challenge. As they say on their YouTube description: "Remix album using all cat sounds? Check. Remix video using all cat gifs? Challenge accepted." The Director, Jason Goldwatch did just that, incorporating cat memes from virtually every corner of YouTube. From crazy home movie cats to famous feline appearances in popular culture such as Star Trek, Bringing Up Baby, and Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom.
Throughout RTJ's latest single are references to the "Paul Is Dead" conspiracy laden with psychedelic, Maqam-like cat melodies. With this much experimentation in samples and production, they might as well be The Beatles of cat-based hip hop.
