This new lyric video from folk rocker Lissie features a twist on the western myth. Using toddler actors and a super-8mm camera, we see a love story unfold thats riddled with alcoholism, depression, isolation, and oncoming attackers. The twist lies in the perspective, where classically we think of the John Wayne-machismo archetype of the old West. This time we see through the eyes of the infant girl, witnessing her lover succumb to these maladies.

The song itself is catchy and does a wonderful job of combining contemporary radio-friendly hooks with a '90s pop-country aesthetic that is a bit reminiscent of classic Shania Twain hits. The rockin' guitar parts and dreamy vibe also call to mind Rumours-era Fleetwood Mac.

My Wild West is set for release on February 12, 2016. Pick it up on Amazon (Vinyl, CD) or your local record store.

Lissie has also just announced new show dates in Europe. For Lissie's latest music, news, and tour dates, check out her Zumic artist page.
