On last night's episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, indie rocker Kurt Vile came on to perform "Pretty Pimpin'," a cut from his 2015 album, b'lieve i'm goin down.... Joining Vile and The Violators on the song was Dinosaur Jr.'s J. Mascis. Watch it above.
With psychedelic visuals in the background, Kurt performs a clean, but abbreviated, version. It feels weird seeing J. Mascis without a guitar strapped on, but he does lend vocal support and additional keyboard effects to help fill out the sound. What would have made this a real special performance would've been if Mascis and Vile traded guitar riffs back and forth!
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert also posted a video of Kurt Vile telling the story of his first gig, playing a haunted house.
