Indie rock group Dr. Dog have shared a song from their upcoming album, The Psychedelic Swamp. Listen to "Bring My Baby Back" above, via Anti-Records YouTube.
In a statement to Vulture, bassist and singer Toby Leaman spoke about the tune:
This song is filled with things that nobody knew what to do with but just didn’t have the heart to throw away. It's like climbing out from the bottom of a junk drawer three stories deep, a veritable ascent into maelstrom.
The tune is an assortment of acoustic guitar strumming, electronic beats, timely keyboard notes, and various quirky sound effects that entertain your ears with a soothing and relaxed vibe (and sounds just as fun when listened through headphones). Don't be surprised if the catchy chorus of "Simple plea, make them pay and make them bring my baby back to me / I'll make them pay and make them bring my baby back to me" gets stuck in your head after a few listens.
Pick up The Psychedelic Swamp on Amazon. It's set for a February 5, 2016 release through Anti-Records.
