Hartford, Connecticut indie rock band Sorority Noise shared their newest song, "XC," earlier today. The track will be on their upcoming EP, It Kindly Stopped For Me. Listen above on SoundCloud.

Vocalist and guitarist Cam Boucher spoke with The FADER about how the song came to be:

I do a lot of driving when we're on tour, probably about 85 percent of it, because it keeps my mind distracted and I get motion sick. I was doing an overnight drive this fall and was thinking about my friend who had taken his life this summer, about how quickly death can come, and kinda just wrote this song via a voice memo, just talking about the lyrics while everyone else slept. My dear friends Olivia and Michi, who have been friends of mine since we were 16, were able to sing on this song with me and I am so incredibly grateful for that.

"XC" is a slow-burner with sorrowful lyrics and winding, chime-like piano melodies. The mellow tune features whispering vocals sung over soft acoustic guitars that leads into an intense build up.

Pick up It Kindly Stopped For Me, scheduled to be released April 22, 2016, on the band's official website. Last month, the band released the first single "Either Way."
