Alkaline Trio will be releasing the album My Shame Is True on April 2nd. The album is more than just a clever wordplay on Elvis Costello's classic album My Aim Is True as evidenced by the first music video, for "The Temptation of St. Anthony":

Billboard reports that guitar player Matt Skiba has been working with bassist/vocalist Dan Andriano and Descendents and Black Flag drummer / producer Bill Stevenson in Colorado. Speaking on the process of making the album, Skiba said:

"I could feel that thing again, and I don't feel it every time we make a record... The more scientific a record gets, the more it loses that fire within the band for me and that very subliminal chaos. When things get too under-the-microscope, you lose that... The first line of the song is always the hardest thing to write, and then after that, the song should -- unless it sucks -- it should write itself. There's a magic to that urgency and I think it comes across through the song. Those are the kind of songs that I like to play live, people in the crowd like ‘em more"

"The Temptation of St. Anthony" is a pure rocker with a good groove and the sci-fi video is pretty cool. Hopefully more good stuff to come from The Alkaline Trio.
