"Stiff" - White Denim [Official Full Album Stream + Zumic Review]

Austin indie rock quartet White Denim released their new album, Stiff, containing 9 songs and running for a brisk 35 minutes. Contrary to the title, the LP is loose and fun.

This is White Denim's seventh studio album. Their previous record, 2013's Corsicana Lemonade, proved to have a softer, laid back sound. There are some slower tracks on this album, including "(I'm The One) Big Big Fun," which is an easygoing tune with breezy melodies, and "Take It Easy (Ever Lasting Love)" featuring vocals singing falsetto over calming strums and a steady bass line.

The rest of Stiff picks things up with fast-paced, riveting jams. It starts off strong with the fiery, "Had 2 Know (Personal)" full of energetic guitar riffs that jumps right into the funky, refreshing "Ha Ha Ha Ha (Yeah)." The excitement continues with the third lively track, "Holda You (I'm Psycho)."

"Mirrored in Reverse" is a thrilling song with assertive drums and powerful guitars. Stiff wraps up with the carefree, parting track, "Thank You," Which features the fitting and heartfelt lyrics, "I wanna thank you, we made it."

White Denim successfully put together another exceptional album. In just 35 short minutes, the band have crafted an epic sonic experience. There's a great balance of fast and slow, hard and soft, that works seamlessly as the songs flow into one another naturally.
